We live in a crazy, chaotic, scary, frustrating, and turmoil-filled world. We turn on the news and see fighting around the world. There's fighting on the streets of our country's cities. There's fighting amoungst political rivals. There seems to be stife, anger, and turmoil everwhere we turn.
When I experience my fair share of chaos, I am often reminded of a commercial from the 80's. It was a bath soap called Calgon. The commercial started off with a woman stressed out because of the burden of her life and she screams: "Calgon take me away!" Then the commercial would show this same woman soaking in a tub with not a care in the world. How many times would we love to yell: "Calgon...Take me away!"
The truth is: We don't need Calgon...We Just Need Jesus!
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Becoming a Christan does not instantaneously make all of our problems go away. Nor does the the craziness of this world cease just because we are washed by the blood of Jesus. But Paul's statement is true that the Peace that Christ offers surpasses all earthly comprehension.
